Our story

Four decades in one city, making one kind of thing properly.

1982

The house began as a single workroom in Doha, making abayas for people who wanted something better cut than what was available and were prepared to wait for it. That is still, precisely, what we do.

The workroom

We have never grown past the number of people who can watch a single piece from first cut to final press. It is a real constraint and it costs us volume. It is also the only reason the pieces are what they are.

The cloth

We buy in short runs, because the mills that weave the way we want cannot weave much. When a bolt is finished, the piece is finished. That is not scarcity as a tactic — it is the honest limit of making things this way.

Now

The same workroom, the same city, and pieces worn in places we have never been. If you are wearing one, thank you. We do not take that lightly.
